I am happy to be selling the Standard Process® whole food supplements for veterinary use only. Given the proper nutrition, the animal’s body can and will heal itself. There are gaps in today’s processed foods, especially after the typical heating involved in most commercial pet foods as they are processed.
We all have heard how great whole grains are for good health, however we are finding more and more pets have sensitivity to grains in the diet, seen as food allergies with skin or gastrointestinal inflammation. The dog and cat were meant to eat meats primarily, with a small amount of grasses, fruits and vegetables. However we need to remember that the wheat kernel is comprised of a starch as well as a nutrient rich bran and germ component. Most of the processed wheat has the bran and germ component removed to leave the starch which is empty of nutrients. This often increases shelf life of these products because there is no nutrient source. The wheat germ and bran are beneficial and a good source of nutrition for our pets.
Whole food supplements supply our pets with nutrients they may not be getting from their diet, as well as vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients that foods possess in a whole food form.*
The ingredients of these supplements are harvested at their peak on an organic farm in Wisconsin. They are matched together to form a special formulation for certain body functions. For example, Enteric (GI) Support, Renal (Kidney) Support or Whole Body Support.
Pets with certain illnesses or tendencies may benefit from a combination of supplements, such as Enteric and Immune for an inflammatory bowel type of illness. Other human formulations can also be used on the veterinary side in order to find the best combination for the illness at hand.
Healthy pets will also benefit greatly from the Whole Body Support supplement. As most of today’s pet foods are processed, most of the essential vitamins and nutrients from the food sources have been heated/processed out and what remains is of less value to the body. Adding a whole food supplement will ensure that your pet stays at the peak of health with a strong immune system, healthy skin, and energy.
Just like any other dietary program, daily exercise and a well balanced grain-free diet is essential to providing all that is needed for your dog or cat’s health. We strongly recommend that your cat eat a high protein, low carb canned food diet to ensure adequate water intake and decrease the tendency toward obesity. (Please note: certain disease processes, such as kidney disease may call for a lower protein level in a cat’s diet.) Since horses were meant to eat forage, a fully balanced, low carb diet with lots of grasses and hay is recommended. Be sure to have a good water source at all times.
Please inquire upon the Standard Process® whole food supplements and get your pet on the way to the best health it can have.
