We often focus too much on fixing problems once they happen, instead of thinking about how we can prevent problems from happening in the first place. An animal’s spine needs maintenance to help prevent pain, muscle spasm, lameness, etc. Why do we always wait for these problems to occur before we take action? Think of it as why people go to the Dentist on a regular basis. We go to the Dentist to have our teeth prophylaxis (cleaning) performed. This is to help prevent cavities and other problems that may occur more frequently if we do not have our cleanings every 6-12 months. In a similar way, we need to learn preventative maintenance for other aspects of our lives and our pets lives. Prevention is key to all aspects of your pet’s health! Don’t forget to have your dog, cat or horse evaluated for chiropractic care!
